Chungking Express is the critically acclaimed work by master Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai.
Set in Hong Kong, the film follows the seperate lives of two policemen named "No. 233" and "No. 663", linked together by the lunch counter they both frequent to called "Chungking Express". No. 233 has broken up with his girlfriend on April 1st and gives their love a month to recover. He soon becomes seemingly obsessed with buying pineapples with the expiration date of May 1.
No. 633 has similarly broken up with his girlfriend and meets Faye, the lunch counter cashier, who secretly falls in love with the cop. As a gesture of her love, Faye breaks into No. 633's appartment to "redecorate" and "improve" his home.
